Hip Hop Samples

To buy or not to buy? That’s what I asked myself after a producer friend showed me The Platinum Pack from joemadsamples. I was actually surprised at the quality and variety. Usually, I’m the type of producer that would say “make your own samples” but joemadsamples may have changed my mind.

A lot of other collections that I’ve heard haven’t been very inspirational. Usually they’re all hype and most of the sounds are just drums. The Platinum Pack has a little bit of everything. There are bass, synth, strings and more.

Now when I’m making a track I usually flip through the platinum pack to start. The timbaland collection and world hip hop collection are my 2 favorites. The world hip hop collection is packed with tons of percussion from around the world. So, now that I copped this from my friend I figured that I’d at least send a shout out. So, go cop your own!

Ever wonder where Hip Hop producers make their music? On this blog I will display the results of my Hip Hop production research. I’ll be looking into how the music is made, where producers get their samples, what software and hardware they use, etc.
